Autumn on my Cheek

Autumn, you rush in like a kiss brushing the cheek, yet leaving an impression.
Autumn, you call to me like a long lost friend;

"Remember me? How my colours evoke silences? How you taste the minty air on your lips? No more heat for you my friend, still I bring warmth... I unearth your sweaters, your scarves, your happy shiver. "

Autumn reminds that we all love a little surprise, a spicy breeze captured in the cocoon womb of our jackets - worn and comfortable - or newly bought, "For me? Why, thank you" says Autumn, "I always like it when you dress up".

"But, oh dear soul" soothes Autumn, whom shall herein be referred to as "A",
"I am more than a change of look, sweet as it is, nay, superficial fare am I not.

I am your reminder, your conscience, your special season. I show that life is not endless Summer nor forever Winter. I laugh at Spring, your fleeting friend, for I am "A", your gentle one.

I quicken your pace, as Winter saunters, and there is much to be done. The languid days of Summer have taken their own holiday, after kindly hosting yours. But "A" is here, the loyal nudge along the cycle of life. "

"Remember, remember" whispers "A", "Time is the fleeting season, circling once before it passes".

Love, live, renew... wrap up warm, sip your steaming cup and ponder your map of life. Then smile as another breeze raises a gentle kiss across your cheek, whispering "Remember, love".

Our time on earth is but a raindrop in an ocean of always.

Peace,
x

I think autumn has come a bit early this year, my apple trees are already ready for picking :D. Soon the leaves will turn colour, its so beautiful, but once winter comes, this housewife goes into hibernation!

You write so beautifully and no Keats derivatives - I'm counting the days until someone posts those two lines that I hope never to see again

'Remember love' I will remember you.

Thank you Clarity for taking the time to comment on so many of my posts.

Your post was beautiful and the fall is my favourite season.

Autumn is my favorite month! These verses are so pretty and reminded me of the beauty that awaits in the days ahead when the leaves turn beautiful colors and there is a lovely bite to the air and I can wear a cozy sweater out and about. My cats will be running here, there and every where when the weather turns cool. I can't wait to see our new little kitten running about in the leaves like a little nutter!

P.S. Clarity, tomorrow I will come by and tell you how I get some books before they are published! I was going to tonight but your blog post brought better things to mind :o)

What a perfect welcome to Autumn Clarity. So gentle and true.

For all the reasons you gave us I love this time of year too, our season's may be more subtle than in other parts of the country and world, but they are there. In the light, and the leaves on the trees, the windblown sea.

My true love and I were married in the Autumn for all these very romantic reasons.

thank you for an always lovely post. ♥

love,
lori

Oh my Darling- this is so wonderful. I really love how you spoke of reminding us that life is not endless. My first husband passed away in Early October and for many years I hated all things fall. I am at such a different place in my life now and that pain has changed. It is just part of me now.
I love that I can love fal again and I love you!
Have a wonderful week precious friend.

You are hereby and from now on forward my poet in residence
(my residence is the heart), the spirit reminding me of all things true and heartfelt.
And autumn is so beautiful, abundance and natures peak of chic, the riches for all to share and the melancholic messenger of endings.

Hi Clarity :) you can get the Laduree macaroons inside the Laduree shop in Harrods, or there's also one across the street from Fortnum and Mason (near the Royal Academy of the Arts) at Burlington Arcade. THe pistachio is divine and the coconut is just as amazing. Let me know if you try them :D

Just beautiful, gorgeous.
Love the words and the sentiment. Amen.

I love autumn but not such a fan of spring (I'd rather just get to the hot, hot, hot weather)

Enjoy the fall and the fabulous array of colours and the falling leaves and the crisp weather and the glistening days end.

Bless, wish we had fall.

Have a great weekend,
Anika

I hope life is going well for you :o)

You commented on my giveaway post something about giveaways being international. Clarity, thank you! I never really thought about the issues with restricting the contests. Since it was my first giveaway, I was thinking that limiting the entrant pool would be a little easier (I'm not even sure why now!). But I didn't think of the problem that I was excluding friends like you from the giveaway. I'm so sorry. I suffer from extreme brain fog occasionally =o) After this, my giveaways will be international. I'll let you know when I host another one. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

"wrap up warm...and ponder your map of life." you captured wonderfully how fall intrigues self-exploration. a season of fiery beauty before a long spell of dormancy. a time to think so we too can burst how in renewed growth in spring.
